38 Weeks

Our little monkey is 38 weeks old today. The exact same amount of time I was pregnant. My pregnancy seemed soooo much longer though. I guess that's because when you are pregnant, the time seems to creep by because you are counting down the days to when you can hold your precious baby. But when the baby is here you are praying the days go by slower so you can enjoy every minute of your time together. Everyday he gets more and more fun to be around. His favorite word right now is "Dad" "Daddy" or "DaDa." You should hear how grown up sounding he is when he says "Dad." Perfect pronounciation! It makes Shawn and I laugh every time. Shawn's unemployment was definitely a shock and we've had to cut back, but it has also been such a blessing that he has this time with Aiden to really form a strong bond. Aiden just loves his daddy. No one can make him laugh like daddy can. It just melts my heart to see them together. I always knew Shawn would be a great daddy, but to see it in action is something else.

On another note, I've been really trying hard to wean myself off of breastfeeding. Yes, I said wean ME off, not Aiden. Aiden has taken to formula like a champ. It was a little tough at the beginning, but now he's perfectly happy to have either breastmilk or formula. So now the hard part is training my body not to produce any more. I'm down to pretty much twice per day. Not having to lug around that pump is SO nice! But the thing I am most excited about is getting to eat sushi again. I haven't had good sushi in about a year and a half. That's entirely too long!! I'm also enjoying my occasional glass of wine again. Ahhhh, the joys in life.
