Bad Mommy!

Shawn and I decided to enjoy the beautiful weather yesterday and take Aiden to our neighborhood park. Aiden was having so much fun playing, sliding down the slide with Daddy, swinging with Mommy. I decided to take Aiden down the slide with me like Daddy had a million times. This particular slide has a curve in it. As we took the curve, Aiden's shoe caught the side of the slide. My weight carried us down the slide, but Aiden's foot stayed behind. I grabbed his foot away before it got too bad, but the damage was done. Tears, screaming, crying. We practically ran back to the house and took his shoe off. No swelling or obvious signs of hurt, but Aiden wouldn't walk or crawl. We decided we needed to take him to the emergency care for kids up the road. The doctor took x-rays, didn't see anything broken and diagnosed it as a sprain. Today was much better. He's crawling now with the speed he had before. He will walk (or limp) on his "bad" foot with support. I feel like a horrible mommy for taking him down that slide with his shoes on. Never again. Only socks next time. Here are his x-rays.
