Sickness and Motherhood Don't Mix

Aiden and I both got sick on Tuesday morning. Aiden had a mild fever and I had a sore throat. That progressed into Aiden being fussy with that darn fever off and on all day and me having body aches, cough, nausea, weakness, and that darn sore throat. Thank God Shawn was there to take care of us because I could hardly even hold Aiden. Being a sick mother and having to take care of a 7 month old just doesn't mix well. How do single parents do it? I've definitely learned to appreciate what my mother did for us growing up a lot more now that I'm a mother. Some days I just think single parents are super heros. I rely on Shawn's help so much that I don't know how I would parent without him.

Aiden could definitly tell something just wasn't right with me. I could see it in his eyes that he was wondering why I wasn't holding him as often. It made me sad, but I could hardly get myself off the couch. We both went to the doctor yesterday. Aiden had a red throat, so I know his throat was sore just like mine...poor thing. He wasn't eating well, so I kinda already suspected he was hurting. He took this sickness pretty well though. Yes, he was a little more fussy than normal, but overall he was pretty darn good. We are both feeling much better today. Thankfully this is over before the 4th of July weekend.
