Running On Empty

Last night was a very trying night for me and Shawn. I fed Aiden around 8:00 pm and he finally went down at almost 9:00 pm. I assumed he would sleep until at least 4:00 am, but at 10:30 pm he woke up. Luckily Daddy took care of that one. Then 2:00 am hit and he started crying again. I fed him and he immediately went to sleep...for about 10 minutes. I woke Daddy up so that he could get him back to sleep, but all he wanted to do was cry. I took over again and got him back to sleep...for about 5 minutes. This happened for about 1 1/2 hours before Daddy finally got him to sleep around 4:00 am....for about 45 minutes. He woke up again at 4:50 am because by this time he was hungry again. I fed him again, put him to sleep again, and finally just got up to get ready for work. He was able to sleep until 6:30 am when I left for work. So in total Shawn and I got approximately 4 1/2 hours of sleep last night. We are dreading the day that he starts teething. We're assuming we'll have nights like last night many more times when that happens. Needless to say, I'm running on empty today. And since I can't have too much caffeine, I'll just have to learn to sleep with my eyes open (like Daddy and Aiden).
