We had an appointment with Dr. Jaffee on Tuesday to hear the baby's heartbeat. Shawn and I were so excited. The heartbeat wasn't really loud, but the Dr. said it was a strong 165! Mom thinks that means it's a girl. I told the Dr. that I was concerned that the fibroid tumor on my uterus is growing a little too fast and so she suggested we have another ultrasound to check it out. We were so excited that we get another ultrasound!!
So we go back yesterday for the ultrasound. The fibroid had grown from 8 cm wide to 10x11 cm (basically the size of a grapefruit). That bummed me out a little, but then we saw the baby. It was just movin' and groovin'. Its little arms and legs were just working overtime. It was sooo cute! Shawn asked if it was too early to find out the sex and so she said she would try to see if she could see anything. It was hard to get the baby in the right position since it was moving so much, but all of the sudden there it was. A little penis!! She said that it was still too early to make a definite determination, but she said she thought it was a boy!! So we aren't going to buy any boy things yet, but we're pretty sure that's what it is.
